2.   What questions do you have that haven't been answered about the senior project?
  • What is an independent component?
  • Can I have more than three answers to my Essential Question?
  • Does the availability of a mentor have to be a determining factor in the topic I choose?
  • Can I choose the day, block, and grader of my final presentation?
  • What percentage of class grades does Senior Project make up?

3. What is the most important part of the senior project based on what you saw in the two-hour presentations?
From what I saw in the senior presentations I watched, I would say that the most important part of the senior project is the Essential Question answers. Based on my observations, finding these answers is the whole point of the senior project. In fact, without them there would be no project. Also, talking about the EQ answers is apparently the only thing that makes up the 30 minutes of required talking time.

4. What topic are you considering doing and why?

For my senior project I am considering doing the topic of simultaneous language interpretation. I would like to do this topic because interpreting is the career field I am currently thinking about pursuing after high school.

5. What are you doing for your summer mentorship?
This summer I am going to Guatemala City, Guatemala for five weeks to study Spanish. While I am there I will be staying with a lady who works as a professional interpreter and translator and also teaches both of these at a local university. I plan to get my 10 hours by working with her.
